For you ladies out there that have told me to go take a hike, I finally did today =P

That's right ladies and gentlemen... I, a man that hasn't done any serious exercise for the past.... I dunno... 3-4 years... actually went out and did something healthy! I went karaoke last night with my friend Geoff and he introduced me to some of his friends. It was pretty fun. They mentioned that they were going to go hiking this morning. Since I planned to actually start doing some exercise this year, I decided to join in. It was actually pretty fun. Very exhausting, but fun. I am soo tired right now I actually plan to sleep pretty soon. But right now, I end the day knowing I did something good for myself and I actually feel very good too! Definitely need to do this more often. It just proves that regular exercise does help, not just physically, but mentally as well. Now, I hope I don't lose this optimism later on as time drags on again.

After hiking, we all went to have lunch. All day breakfast... yummy... Then after squabbling about where to go next, we finally decided to hit the driving range. I haven't swung a golf club in two years, but apparently, I'm actually alright. I could hit the ball a good 150 (yards? feet?), although I slice the ball right a lot. Now I feel motivated to learn golf this year. Unfortunately, my dad sold off his old clubs to someone so now I have no clubs to use. Damn. I bet he wants to get me a set from China... oh joy.. watch them break in a few weeks. =P

Definitely a great day, but I ended up missing mass... I'll have to make up for that next week. All in all, a very productive day. I think I should ask some others to come along next time. Anyone wanna join me? =)

Assertion error detected....

....... what da hell do I want? And why is it that I am unwilling or unable to just go and get it?

....... why?

Ladies and Gentlemen, John Paul II has left the building...

Well, everyone knows what happened over the weekend. Our beloved pontiff Pope John Paul II has passed away. No words could describe how great he was to us. We will surely miss you, our beloved Commander in Chief...

As I was saying, I was on my little road trip over the weekend to do the GT promotion at Queen's and Ottawa/Montreal. (Mike: GT is the acronym for the chinese for Eastern Canada Chinese Catholic Living Camp, a retreat we hold every Labour Day weekend that I've been a part of since '96.) It was a pretty fun weekend. Was nice to see some friends from Queen's again and had a blast staying up late eating late dinner and then deciding to not go and then to go to bbtea afterwards. lol...

Then Saturday, drove to Ottawa to do the promotion there, and on the 417 highway, I had the dubious honour of nearly tearing off the front of an idiot van that came out into our lane after making the smartass decision of trying to cram into the slow lane and nearly rear-ending the bunch of cars in it... phew.. what a mouthful. Anyways, thank God I insisted I went to Young Drivers (although some of my own stupid driving mistakes might make you wonder... but it's not YD's fault, it's mine =P). Met up w/ Betty for coffee/hot chocolate who I haven't seen since Christmas. Was nice to chat w/ her again after all this time. Too bad the weather was terrible or I wouldn't mind taking a look around Carleton U (where she's attending school right now). Heard the news of the Pope's passing that afternoon. Sunday, did the promotion in front of the chinese mass in Ottawa. Quite interesting as there really weren't any youth in our target age, but a lot of youngin's and the parents of such potential youths that were interested in our presentation. Ah well, I say it was a job well done. Honestly, I felt very unprepared b/c I realized I haven't done any public speaking in a LONG time... but I was fortunate to have the extra time to prepare during mass b/c it was in mandarin (therefore, I didn't understand the sermon and thus I took the time to practice my lines. I'm so bad =P). Cool thing was, the priest was a non-chinese that spoke cantonese and was learning mandarin. Very cool.

Anyways, back home and back to the humbug that is work. The more things change, the more they stay the same... as they say. Damn, I'm sleepy...

Stuck at home for next day or so...

Well, certain members of the audience has noted that there are not enough updates to satisfy their needs, so... here. =P

Anyways, dropped off my car to get fixed yesterday morning, so I'm stuck at home today and most of tomorrow until I go off to Kingston/Ottawa for the GT promotion. Wonder how the car will look like when I pick it up Monday... will it look like it should? Here's hoping...

It's 6am!! And once again, I'm awake... slept at midnight-ish and woke up 5 hours later. Sigh... it's like I'm getting ready for work. I guess my body has this schedule down pat. Guess I'll be knocked out later for afternoon nappy. Until then, I guess I'll play some GT4 or something... Damn, should go rent some movies... but how to get there... so far away... unless I sign up membership at that Rogers Video nearby... hmmm...

Speaking of the GT promotion, I better think of what to say during the presentation... need to be lively and cheery!.... unlike how I've truly felt lately... I know what's wrong... just... how to fix... and I'm supposed to be 25? lol.... shit... 26 in 3 months... ohhhhh crap....

Alright, that should be enough mindless chatter to satisfy you ppl.. now go do something productive! I'm just going to sulk and play video games or watch movies or... do something productive? That would be a first...

When there ends up being no difference between night and day...

Awake at 6am again... except this time, I ended up sleeping all the way from 4pm yesterday until now. Woke up maybe once or twice in between, but ended up not leaving my bed at all. Gotta love my sleep schedule. Best thing is, I have to work night shift again tonight. Joy...

Was a pretty good weekend. For one thing, it's Easter, so there's the religious part to it and all. One of our members of the Mac CCC got baptised on saturday. Pretty cool in the sense that it's a first, that's for sure. It's true that we always end up having some non-Catholics joining us for some reason or another, and it's great to see that even one has decided to convert. Definitely a great moment.

Had lunch with some bible sharing group folks yesterday after Easter mass. Nothing too special. The viet noodle I ordered wasn't bad, but I made the mistake of pouring all the sour sauce into it so it was rather gross at the end. Ended up going home, and then falling asleep.. until now! =P

I've noticed that I've been very quiet lately... not really having much to say. Perhaps I'm starting to wallow in self-pity again. Gotta get out of this... it's like nothing is changing. Sounds like a lot of ppl are going thru some tough crap as well so it's not like I'm the only one. On the other hand, I think I realise that I'm not doing very well religiously either. Seeing how I missed mass for 3 weeks and then comes Easter, something feels missing. I don't know... things look dangerous... very dangerous....
